Storkeys’ Team is a seasoned husband and wife partnership, a TEAM with nearly 30 years of experience in effective communication and leadership training. Mike and Lesley understand how to bring out the best in your business, organization or company through personalized education and training of your team. They provide solutions to your problems.
Uniquely placed, as a couple, Storkeys' Team delivers solutions which are not gender-based and which embrace the workforce as a whole.
With diverse backgrounds in retail management, real estate, insurance, veterinary medicine, project management coupled with leadership and board experience in a leading not-for profit global organization, this dynamic duo is equipped to “develop your team”.
During their business careers both Lesley and Mike have honed their communication and leadership skills through over 25 years of training, facilitating and communicating with both large and small groups through extensive training gained from membership of Toastmasters International, the world’s leading communication and leadership organisation.
Mike and Lesley have presented both keynotes and educational workshops in over thirteen countries around the globe: Australia; Canada; Caribbean; England; India; Ireland; Malaysia; New Zealand; Papua New Guinea; Singapore; Spain; Sri Lanka; Thailand; United States; and Wales. Their audiences comprise participants of differing nationalities, ethnicity and cultures.
Both Mike and Lesley have benefitted from living in Europe and South-East Asia for prolonged periods which has enabled them to have a greater understanding of diverse ethnicities and cultures. This has greatly enhanced their skills in communicating with people of differing social and cultural backgrounds.

Meet Lesley…
Lesley, as a leader in her field of Project Management, initiated many of the real estate projects on Hamilton Island, a prime market for multi-million dollar investments and holiday retreats, in the Whitsundays.
This role incorporated not only site acquisition but also setting of the residential projects, needing a deep understanding of the developer and buyer market.
Lesley holds a Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and practised for 16 years in a predominantly rural practice in what was, at the time, a predominantly male profession.
In 2008–09, Lesley was elected to the position of District 69 Governor of Toastmasters International which covered an area including Northern New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory in Australia. She worked with 3500 people in 7 teams. Lesley earned the Excellence in Education and Training Award. Continuing on this leadership track, in August 2020, she was elected as International Director from Region 12.
Together with Mike, she continues to serve an active role in regularly mentoring individuals throughout the world.
Meet Mike…
Mike was ranked the number one salesman nationally for an Australia-wide real estate franchise, and consistently for years in the Top Five. He holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Mike was a keen competitor in a number of speech competitions and held the titles of District Evaluation (feedback) Champion and District Table Topics (impromptu) Champion.
In 1998–99, Mike was elected to the position of District 69 Governor of Toastmasters International which covered an area including Northern New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory in Australia. He worked with 3300 people in 7 teams. Mike earned the Excellence in Marketing Award, and the Excellence in Education and Training Award.
In 2016-2017 Mike was elected to the position of International President for Toastmasters International. To honour his achievement, the Honourable Joe Hockey Australian Ambassador to the United States held a reception for Mike at the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C. In the role of a director of the Board of a global organisation, Mike was responsible for direction in strategic planning and policy.
In addition, he is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Airlie Beach, and a Past District Trainer for District 9550. This district covers 20% of Australia including Queensland north of the 21st parallel, Northern Territory and Timor Leste. In this role, Mike was involved with leadership training for the club leaders, and his position incorporated training for effective communication skills and strategic planning amongst other skills. Mike retains an active membership of Rotary International.
Mike is a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest accolade awarded to Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike for service and a substantial contribution to Rotary’s humanitarian and educational programmes.
Mike was Charter President of the Whitsunday Chamber of Commerce.
