When (you think) you're in the right, you can afford to keep your temper… …When you're in the wrong, you can't afford to lose it!!

Never has the need of how to deal with conflict become more apparent than with the US President’s inability to deal with the conflict with the Democrats over the funding of the “Wall”. Whether you agree or disagree with the pros and cons of this issue is immaterial. The point is that conflict cannot be resolved without a rational, unemotional discussion between both parties involved. Stamping one’s foot and walking out only inflames the situation and extends the disruption the conflict is causing.

Do you have a contentious issue that is causing conflict in your office or business? Don’t follow the President’s lead. Learn how to negotiate, take the passion out of the moment and achieve consensus to resolve your conflict. Remember time is money in business and the longer a conflict remains unresolved the costlier it becomes, both in terms of money, time, productivity and possibly personnel.

Conflict is a normal occurrence where more than one party is involved. Face it, deal with it and then get on with life. In a world beset with conflict, become part of the solution, not the problem.
