DISCONNECTED??!!

We are breeding a society of disconnected people! Why is it that anger management is a growing problem with rising incidents of cowardly punches; why is it that we can no longer hold a conversation that is meaningful and connected; why is it that a group of people of all ages can walk pass an injured elderly lady at a railway station simply because they don't see her? Don't get me wrong - I use my smart phone just like everyone else but it is a tool not a means to isolate myself from the world around; not a reason to stop learning what is happening around me; not an excuse to refuse to listen and hear what my colleagues and family are saying .....or trying to say. Today our world is too quick to fight, argue, judge, react rather than determine a way to negotiate, to communicate and to resolve. A way to transform ourselves and our lives. All of us are guilty to a greater or lesser degree of believing that the world owes us, not that we have a commitment to contribute to the world around us. It's all about blame on someone else not an opportunity to admit to needing to develop, to grow, to communicate effectively. Accountability is not someone else's responsibility. If only our world leaders would stop for a moment and listen to their people. If only we would get off those phones, our laptops, our e readers, and look around, talk, listen and appreciate?
