A variety and myriad of training courses for members and district leaders throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and Northern Territory. Subjects covered included speech preparation, presentation skills, leadership, management, team building, chairmanship and meeting procedure, time management, evaluation and impromptu speaking.

Mike was the Foundation President of the Whitsunday Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in organizing the original committee. This was many years ago and Mike's expertise and leadership was the start of an organization that has grown from strength to strength. Over the years, Mike has been involved in chairmanship of various committees within the Chamber, and all of this has enabled him to pass onto others, the ability of organization and public speaking.
Mike has moved on and about 6 or 8 years ago, was asked to join The Rotary Club of Airlie Beach. He has held many positions on the Board in that time, culminating in his being elected as President - Elect, and hence take office as the President on July 1st 2009.
Mike has maintained many leadership roles in the community and conveying to the members of the public, his ability in passing on his knowledge of dealing with people, leadership and general organizational skills.

I first met Mike and Lesley Storkey in late 1990 shortly after they had joined Toastmasters International. At that time, I had just completed two years as an International Director of the organisation. Since that time, I have been proud to consider myself their mentor, and have witnessed the transition of both persons from speaker, to leader, to trainer.
During their time as members of Toastmasters International they have both achieved the highest leadership award, Distinguished Toastmaster and have progressed through the leadership tracks of the organisation. Mike Storkey is now a candidate for International Director of Toastmasters International, and Lesley Storkey is presently Immediate Past District 69 Governor (for one of three Districts in Australia).
They both possess dynamic communication and leadership skills and command the greatest respect of Toastmaster members, not only in their own District but throughout Australia and internationally.
Late in 2007, when approached by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority to gain workshop presenters, I had no hesitation in recommending Mike and Lesley Storkey, as they are extremely professional in their presentations and I knew they would most capably represent Toastmasters International.
Both Mike and Lesley present their training and information sessions with knowledge, enthusiasm and empathy. They have the ability to hand difficult topics or situations with aplomb and leave audiences feeling their have been given the opportunity to be heard.
They are also excellent at managing the time allotted to them, particularly when their audience becomes very involved in the topic. They have a range of methods to move the audience to the next point, or to bring closure to a presentation, without alienating the audience.
Mike and Lesley are both personable and proficient in their presentations. They make an audience feel at ease, present difficult subjects so that they are easily understood, and leave the audience feeling they have had the opportunity to be heard and understood.
I have no hesitation in commending and recommending both Mike and Lesley Storkey as speakers and trainers, in any situation they are prepared to undertake.

They are always well prepared as trainers with a thorough knowledge base but it is their style as trainers that keeps their audience engaged and enthusiastic.
Lesley and Mike always involve their audience in their sessions and get great participation. I have observed their style in dealing with "difficult" audience members - those who don't want to participate through to the "know it alls" and these situations have always been handled well with no-one feeling left out, always encouraged, never put down and the audience not disenfranchised because of a minority. They have a great way of keeping participants feeling valued.
I particularly like their style of combining traditional learning with hands-on practice, workshop style sessions where you have to actually "do" the learning.
